The Colorado Mounted Rangers is a statutorily authorized, unpaid auxiliary unit providing assistance to law enforcement agencies, emergency management, fire-fighting, emergency medical service, and search-and-rescue agencies statewide.

State’s Oldest Law Enforcement Organization is Back After 85 Year Hiatus

 

Sept 13, 2012, Denver, Colo. – Without much fanfare on a sunny Saturday, Colorado Senate bill 12-072 (SB12-072) was signed into law by Governor John Hickenlooper on March 24, 2012 (LINK).  SB12-072 officially returns the 151 year old Colorado Mounted Rangers to the state statutes for the first time in 85 years since the organization was removed in 1927.
