The Colorado Mounted Rangers is a statutorily authorized, unpaid auxiliary unit providing assistance to law enforcement agencies, emergency management, fire-fighting, emergency medical service, and search-and-rescue agencies statewide.

Crime Prevention

Attend this 4-hour, national crime prevention and personal safety seminar to learn safety tips and techniques to help you avoid dangerous situations where you may become a victim.



The Colorado Mounted Rangers maintains several Troops throughout the state.  All Troops support local, county, state and federal law enforcement and emergency management.  CMR has specialized components which can perform tactical tracking and fugitive recovery (urban & rural), search & rescue, horse mounted patrol, and other specialized duties. as needed. 


Your First Step:  Fill out a simple webform then attend a Troop meeting!

Attendance at a Troop meeting is usually the best way to learn more about CMR and the application process.  To attend a Troop meeting, your first step is to fill out a brief webform.  Please include some basic information about yourself, your occupation, background, experience and why you are interested in becoming a Ranger.  You will then be contacted by an Ranger from the Office of Troop Development who will provide you with additional information to include the meeting location and put you in touch with a Ranger in the selected Troop. 

There is no obligation when you attend a Troop meeting as a guest!

Take I-25 or US-85 to State Highway 52. Go east on Hwy-52 which is posted as 1st Street in Fort Lupton. Pass through the traffic light at McKinley Avenue then turn left and go north on Park Avenue which is one block before the next traffic light at Denver Avenue. Drive three blocks to 4th Street. Our red brick building will be on your right in the southeast corner of Park Avenue and 4th Street. Parking is along the curb on all streets as marked. Enter through the north door that faces 4th Street.
